THE UKRAINE
A vast and quite mysterious country, which remains as it did centuries ago.
The country is a cradle of the ancient Rus' culture and spiritual centre of Christianity. |
 |
 |
|
| Visiting the rich historical and cultural centres such as: Kiev, Lvov, Odessa, The Crimea and The Carpathians helps the tourists to understand the history, traditions and present day life of the Ukranians. |

RUSSIA - MOSCOW
According to an old Russian proverb "There is nothing above Moscow except the Kremlin, and nothing above the Kremlin except Heaven".
Certainly, the vast Kremlin and its spiritual heart, St. Basil's Cathedral, remain the nations landmark symbol. Yet Russia's capital offers wonder after wonder - you will love dramatic Red Square, the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre, GUM department store, the Tretyakov Gallery's icon collection and the Metro's lavish marble halls. |
 |
ST PETERSBURG
St. Petersburg, "Venice of the North", will astound you with its exquisite canals and convents, palaces and parks. You will be captivated by its skyline, studded with golden cupolas of lavish churches and pastel-shade Baroque buildings.
You will marvel at the dazzling treasure trove of the Hermitage Museum, the remarkable Peter and Paul Fortress and Petrodvorets, (shown right, below) the charming Summer Palace on the Gulf of Finland to the west of the city.

DRESDEN
Centre of the German Baroque par excellence, Dresden's highlights include the magnificent palatial buildings around the Theaterplatz (below, left) and the Bruhl Terraces, and the many art treasures at the state museums.
Today Dresden offers a unique blend of stunning architecture, world-famous art collections and living traditions in both music and the fine arts - plus the great natural beauty of the countryside alongside the Elbe river, dotted with wonderful castles and villas. |

BERLIN
The yesterday capital of Prussia and cultural centre of the Golden Twenties, today the gateway to eastern Europe. Berlin is once again making a new beginning. One can sense the fresh vibrancy everywhere, on the boulevards, in the art and flea markets, in the 300 trendy nightspots and the many pubs and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy three opera houses, two great concert halls and many theatres, cabarets, musicals and revues. Art-lovers are also spoilt for choice at many excellent museums. Whilst in Berlin, it is worth visiting Potsdam which is right next to Berlin.
This old royal capital of the Hohenzollern dynasty expresses the Prussian spirit, combining strict discipline with a pronounced fondness for French culture and style. Potsdam as whole is a work of art made up of landscaped gardens, parks and palaces. |
|
Trips to Berlin and Dresden can be combined with our other trips, like with Prague, Swieradow Zdroj and many of the other eastern and central European capitals.
We recommend travelling by train and using one of the very economic and convenient European Rail Passes or by coach, minibus or airplane. |
PRAGUE
Prague is one of the other most admired cities in Europe and rightly so. No other European city can boast 600 or so years of architecture that is so untouched and undamaged. Prague's most interesting sights are within a relatively small central area, allowing you to see all there is to see as you stroll around. It is no surprise to those who have already been delighted by its beauty and the very special atmosphere pervading its centre, that it is now becoming such a major tourist attraction. |
|
Prague's unique character is unsurpassed anywhere in the world.
The list of famous landmarks is long indeed:
Prague Castle, the Old Town Square, the Town Hall Tower with it's mechanical clock dating back to 1410, Charles Bridge, adorned with many statues of Saints, the Castle District, the Jewish Quarter and Wenceslas Square with it's magnificent building.
Prague is full of good shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and wonderful beer cellars with excellent and reasonably priced beers.
Your trip to Prague can also be combined with visits to places like Berlin, Dresden, Krakow, Swieradow Zdroj, Budapest, Vienna, etc. Again, we recommend you take advantage of the European Rail Pass and travel by train - or by plane, coach or minibus. |
